2019 - 2020 Boys Travel Soccer


 * Movement to an older age group is at the sole discretion of the director when team roster size and/or skill level warrants. Parent requests will not be honored.


  • Cost for the 2019-2020 year is $225.00 (Includes a non-refundable 10.00 tryout fee). Fee must be paid before a player can participate in tryouts. Registration will close the Wednesday before the first weekend of tryouts. Anyone registering after that will incur a 25.00 late fee.
  • Players will be responsible for purchasing standard Springfield Uniforms .The cost of the kit will be approximately $45.00 to $55.00 and will include a home and away jersey, shorts and socks. This is not included in the travel fee. When a player is selected for a team, you will receive an email with instructions to order the uniform.
  • If your player is not selected for a team, a refund in the amount of $215.00 will be mailed to you two weeks after the announcement of the teams.
  • If your player chooses not to accept their roster spot on the team, a written notice must be submitted to [email protected] within two weeks after the announcement of the teams to receive a refund. Note: After accepting your spot on the roster, NO REFUNDS will be issued............


  • All players must be good standing members of the Springfield Athletic Association. Membership fee must be paid before tryouts.
  • All players must register for tryouts. There will be no walkup registrations this year. Please select the links above to register your player and pay the registration fee.
  • Please fill out all registration information accurately. This information is used to create medical releases which are carried by the coaches to all games and tournaments. Also this information is transferred to EPYSA to create the player cards.
  • Players new to travel soccer must upload their birth certificate within the registration process, or hand in a copy at tryouts
  • All players should upload a head shot (player's picture) to their registration record. This facilitates the creation of the EPYSA player card. 


All age groups will have two tryout sessions at different dates and times. If you cannot make one of these tryouts, you need to email the travel director Harry Horozoglou to make other arrangements to get a separate assessment along with an explanation of why you cannot attend the scheduled tryouts.

Players MUST attend at least one tryout session to be eligible for travel team selections. Attending both tryouts will give you the best chance to be placed correctly. It is highly recommended to attend both tryouts.
  • Tryout sessions and evaluation procedure will be organized and run by the SFC coaching director.
  • Rankings and team placement are determined by the coaching director, travel director with input from independent evaluators, and if applicable the team's head coach.
  • Selection criteria will include small-sided game play on a 3, 4, or 5 field rotation system, (3v3, 4v4, or 5v5 grids). Additional skills evaluations will be assessed on the second tryout date. All player evaluations will be scored and tallied.
Once evaluations are completed, coaches will contact their players picks by either email or phone call 1 to 2 weeks after the final tryout date. Example; Sarting with team order, A team coach to the B team coach and then to the C team coach, All coaches are encouraged to contact their player picks by phone call. *Communication must begin with highest rated player selection then move down the ranking list. Confirmation of player acceptance MUST be promptly received. This allows adjustments in the event a player declines an offer based on the decision communicated.


  • Photo copy of the original birth certificate (one with the raised seal) for first time players. Hospital birth announcements are not acceptable. It is strongly recommended to upload the birth certificate to your player's profile when registering.
  • Shin Guards worn underneath soccer socks.
  • Cleats
  • Soccer Ball (size 5 for 2005/2006/2007, size 4 for 2008/2009/2010/2011)
  • Water Bottle
  • Plain light color or dark color t-shirt
